Good morning! Yesterday definitely went more smoothly than the previous day because of longer stretches of roads. We took off from Warrenton around 8am and a lot of us were able to ride side by side on the rural back roads and chat with each other. We took a few pictures along the way and definitely stopped for water plenty of times, as this was a 75 mile day (my longest ride yet.) The elevation yesterday was about 3,000ft of gain, so it was a pretty tough one for everyone and just a long day in general. Our group was killing it too at an average speed of 14.4mph for the entire 75. It took some motivation, encouragement, and a lot of water stops to get everyone through the day, but we made it to Charlottesville safely. As far as food donations, it was a great day! We arrived to the First Baptist Church and they had tons of salad, lasagna, cookies, bread, and brownies waiting for us. Throughout the day, our van drivers were able to get us Chicfila and Ihop for lunch, along with Panera and tons of other places for the coming days. Although a physically tough day, I think everyone had a great time and we always remember what we're riding for. Looking forward to bringing breakfast bags to chemo patients today and visiting with them at the Emily Couric Cancer Center at UVA.
